James Chester Beck

James Chester Beck, Master Chief, retired, age 76, of Long Beach, Miss., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025.

James was born in Palmer on Feb. 17, 1948. He served the U.S. Navy honorably for 27 years.

James was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Luft and mother, Gilda Trosper.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Dawn Beck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach, Miss. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until Mass. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St., Gulfport, Miss., is honored to serve the Beck family.
