Jack O. Skinner, 90, of Arvada, Colo., passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024. Born on Oct. 11, 1933, in Lincoln, Jack lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to family, a strong work ethic, and a deep love for his Nebraska roots.

Jack attended the University of Nebraska, where he laid the foundation for a long and successful career in the food service industry. Over the years, he worked with King’s Food Host, Pinehurst Country Club, and other establishments, earning a reputation for leadership, integrity, and commitment to quality service.

In 1957, Jack married Kae Haas, and together they had a son, John Skinner. Later, in 1972, he married Joan Sleizer, and they welcomed another son, Jeffery Skinner. Jack was a devoted father and grandfather, always proud of his family and their accomplishments.

He is survived by his sons, John Skinner and Jeffery Skinner; his grandson, Ryan Skinner; and his great-grandchildren, Jake Skinner and Andrew Skinner.

Jack was known for his quick wit, infectious laughter, and a personality that could light up any room. He had a remarkable gift for making people smile — whether through a joke, a story, or simply his warm and playful presence. Time spent with Jack was always filled with laughter and joy.

He cherished time on the Ober family farm in Fullerton, where he found peace and connection to his heritage. A lifelong Husker fan, he rarely missed a chance to take in a Big Red football game in Lincoln — a tradition that brought him great joy.

Jack will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the lasting impact he made on everyone lucky enough to know him.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Fullerton Cemetery. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
