Cornhusker Public Power District customers give $3,325 to help their communities

Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund trustees awarded $3,325 to 11 organizations at the August 11 meeting.

Cornhusker Public Power District CEO/GM Clay Gibbs said, “These organizations are doing great things in the community, and we are very proud to be a part of it. Please consider rounding up your electric bill and join us in making a difference in your community.”

In Genoa, Genoa Fire Department received $500 for rescue ropes and atmospheric monitors; and Twin River Public Schools received $200 for a blessing closet.

In Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids Rescue received $500 for a Lucas Device.

In Clarkson, St. John Neumann School received $300 for a cooler fountain and bottle refill.

In Columbus, Federated Church received $200 for an AED.

In Howells, Howells Historical Society received $250 for a microphone.   

In Humphrey, Humphrey Fire Department received $500 for pagers.

In Platte Center, The Village of Platte Center received $200 for park equipment.

In Schuyler, The Colfax County Senior Citizens Center received $200 for ceiling tiles and fire alarm; V.F.W. Post 4836 received $400 for military flag poles.   

In St. Edward, St. Edward Post Prom received $75 for prizes.
