Cornhusker Public Power customers give $4,055 to help their communities

Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund trustees awarded $4,055 to 18 organizations at the November 3 meeting.

Cornhusker Public Power District CEO/GM Kyndell Penick said, “These organizations are doing great things in the community, and we are very proud to be a part of it. Please consider rounding up your electric bill and join us in making a difference in your community.”

In Albion, Albion Chamber of Commerce received $200 for lights and a tree topper; Boone Central Schools received $250 for books; and Boone County Toys for Tots $200 for gifts.

In Columbus, Columbus Area Children’s Museum received $250 for supplies for events; Nebraska Extension Platte County 4-H received $250 for STEM materials; Pinnacle Bank – Christmas for our Troops $200 for troop care packages; Platte County Historical Society $200 for digitizing equipment; and Platte County Pheasants Forever $200 for a native grass and pollinator program.   

In Genoa, Genoa Public Library received $200 for a teen LEGO club; and Twin River Post Prom received $75 for prizes.

In Howells, Howells Community Catholic Schools received $200 for library books.

In Humphrey, Humphrey Public Library received $200 for crafts/supplies for their preschool program; and Humphrey Public Schools received $250 for library books.    

In Monroe, the Village of Monroe received $200 for a park shelter.

In Petersburg, Petersburg Public Library received $200 for a microfiche machine.

In Platte Center, Platte Center Elementary PTO received $200 for picnic tables.

In Schuyler, Schuyler Historical Society received $200 for a vacuum cleaner.    

In St. Edward, St. Edward Fire Department received $580 for a grassland nozzle.
