FULLERTON — Another candidate has announced his intention to run for office in Nance County.
Bob Voichoskie will run for re-election as a Republican for Nance County Supervisor.
He is the third candidate to file for the May 12 primary. Two candidates filed for re-election on Jan. 5: Nance County Sheriff Ben Bakewell and Nance County Clerk Adrian Chlopek.
Incumbents have until 5 p.m. on Feb. 17 to file to run in the primary. Non-incumbent candidates have until 5 p.m. on March 2 to file for the primary.
Election season will be busy in Nance County.
County offices on the ballot include four county supervisor seats, clerk, treasurer, assessor, sheriff, attorney and surveyor. The city of Fullerton will have mayor and three city council seats on the ballot. The city of Genoa will have mayor, two city council seats and two airport authority seats on the ballot. The village of Belgrade will have three seats for the village board of trustees on the ballot.
There will also be a variety of school board seats contested in May primary. Nance County voters will decide the fate of seven different school districts. In addition to Fullerton and Twin River, a portion of Nance County residents vote in the High Plains, Riverside, St. Edward, Palmer and Central Valley board of education races. Each district will have three seats on the ballot with the exception of Riverside, who will have four seats decided in the primary.
There will also be federal and state races on the primary ballot.
Though not on the primary ballot, Nance County will also have 12 township races in the November general election.
The Nance County Journal will publish the list of candidates that file for the primary each week, as well as a running list of candidates in each race through the filing deadline.
