Cornhusker PPD customers give $4,555 to help their communities

Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund trustees awarded $4,555 to 20 organizations at the May 11 meeting.

Cornhusker Public Power District CEO/GM Kyndell Penick said, “These organizations are doing great things in the community, and we are very proud to be a part of it. Please consider rounding up your electric bill and join us in making a difference in your community.”

In Fullerton, Fullerton Area Chamber of Commerce received $250 for large flowerpots; Fullerton Post Prom received $75 for prizes; and Fullerton Volunteer Fire Department $500 for wildland tools.

In Genoa, Park Street Medical Clinic received $500 for an AED; and Pawnee Sr. Center received $250 for an office chair In Albion, GSS-Albion received $100 for bingo prizes: and St. Michael’s School received $300 for archery materials.

In Cedar Rapids, Cedar Valley Community Foundation received $200 for benches and picnic tables; and Tuesday Morning Quilters received $100 for batting.

In Clarkson, Clarkson Inclusive Playground received $200 for a new playground; and Clarkson Rodeo received $100 for facility upgrades.

In Columbus, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Women of the ELCA received $100 for batting.

In Howells, Howells Community Catholic School received $200 for social studies books.

In Humphrey, Ne FarmTok received $100 for food for their golf fundraiser; and Humphrey Fire and Rescue received $500 for a SCBA compressor.

In Newman Grove, Newman Grove Public Library received $200 for outdoor lawn games.

In Schuyler, Colfax County Sr. Citizens Center received $200 for kitchens supplies.

In Spalding, Spalding Academy received $280 for STEM lesson plans; Spalding Economic Development Group received $200 for a splash pad; and Spalding Sr. Center $200 for a microwave.
