Arylce Jean McCoig Sellhorst

Arylce Jean McCoig Sellhorst passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, 2026, at her home in Fremont with family. Arylce (AJ) was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Merrick County, born in the same house, same room as her mother, Florence. She grew up on a farm in Nance County. She had a love for her family and outdoor life, especially for horses and bird watching.

She graduated from Fullerton High School.  She married Leland Hanson after high school.  They were blessed with five children, Rick, Randy, Robin, Rhonda, and Russell.  Leeland passed away, August 1987.

AJ married John Sellhorst in August 1977.  They were blessed with one child, Raegen.  They owned Service Stations in Albion, Duncan, Genoa, and Newman Grove. AJ maintained the bookkeeping for the stations and the home for their six children.  John passed away August 2020.

AJ is survived by her children, Rick (Cristina) Hanson of Eagle, Randy (Janet) Hanson of Columbus, Robin (Mike) Andrews of Omaha, Rhonda Johnson of O’Neil, Russell Hanson of Fremont, and Raegen (Dave) Voboril of Lincoln; and brother, Dennis McCoig of Fullerton; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

AJ was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Florence McCoig; sisters, Joan Homalka and Sheryle Smith; husbands, John Sellhorst and Leland Hanson; and great-grandson, Noah Fick.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for the family.
