Dorothy E. Lassek of Fullerton died Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Edgewood Vista in Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Krakow, rural Genoa. Visitation is on Tuesday from with a 4-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Vigil service to follow, all at the church. Interment is in St. Mary’s Cemetery-Pilzno.
Dorothy Elizabeth Lassek was born on Feb. 28, 1936, in Silver Creek to Louis and Stella (KIaus) Tworek. She grew up in Osceola and attended Polk County schools. Dorothy was united in marriage to Eugene Lassek on April 26, 1958, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church-Pilzno. The couple farmed.
Dorothy was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Krakow, where she served on the parish council, the Rosary Altar Society, sang in the choir, and taught CCD. Dorothy also served as a member of the Nebraska Council of Catholic Bishops, Omaha Archdiocese of Catholic Women, and as Nance County District 25 School Board President.
Dorothy was an avid cook and baker. For many years she made wedding cakes for numerous young couples in the surrounding areas.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, David (Lisa) Lassek of Fullerton and Dale (Amy) Lassek of Silver Creek; daughters, Diane (Dion) Pryor of Fullerton, Denise (Bert) Kollath of Columbus and Donna (Marty) Zach of Omaha; grandchildren, Clinton Lassek, Grant Lassek, Natalie (Jeremiah) Traylor, Dawn (Tim) Eisenhouer, Daniel (Mirla Coronado) Pryor, Eric (Alaina) Pryor, Hannah Foust (Blake Knopik), Laci Kollath, Jerry Zach, Tiffany Zach and Thomas Lassek; great-granddaughter, Blakely Knopik; great-grandson, Grayson Traylor; and sister, JoAnn (Norbert) Lesiak of Fullerton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lassek in 2022; parents, Louis and Stella Tworek; infant son, Gerard Lassek; and grandson, Andrew Pryor.
