Glenn Eric Koenig, 55, of Belgrade, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, at his home in Belgrade.
To honor Glenn’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A private family graveside will be in Iowa at a later date.
Glenn was born on Jan. 19, 1969, to Dale and Linda (Guy) Koenig in Portsmouth, Va. He grew up in Beebeetown, Iowa, and graduated from Tri-Center High School in Neola in 1988. After high school, Glenn set out and moved to Alaska in 1990. There, he worked as an insulator in numerous places throughout the state. In 2023, he moved to Nebraska to be closer to family. He had a deep passion for hunting and fishing and loved spending time outdoors.
He is survived by his daughters, Brittanie (Greg) Malander of Belgrade, Lucy Koenig of Airway Heights, Wash., and Kiiriq Koenig of Davenport, Wash.; granddaughters, Christine and Chloe Malander of Belgrade; mother, Linda Guy of Council Bluffs, Iowa; siblings, Travis (Tracy) Koenig of Papillion, Tara Koenig of Anchorage, Alaska, and Cody (Sophie) Hollinger of Anchorage, Alaska; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mia Malander; father, Dale Koenig; step-father, Butch Guy; and grandparents, Glenn and Doris Koenig.
