Kristi Lea Fitzgerald, affectionately known as Kris Lea, of Fullerton, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, at the age of 47, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton with Pastor Phil Tilson officiating. Burial will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family.
Kristi was born on Aug. 25, 1976, to Randy and Janeene (Davis) Fitzgerald in Kearney. She grew up in Colorado Springs, Colo., and graduated from Rampart High School in 1995. Kristi then attended Pikes Peak Community College, where she studied dental assisting. In addition to her dental training, she obtained her CNA certification and worked around the Pikes Peak area. She also managed a women’s fitness club, Butterfly Life, in Colorado Springs.
Kristi cherished spending time with her children and family. She had a deep love for the outdoors, whether it was the mountains or the ocean, and always appreciated the beauty of nature. Some of her favorite hobbies included reading, fine pen art, walking, playing cards with grandma, and traveling. She also had a strong love of music and loved going to concerts. Kristi was known for being generous, compassionate, joyful, free-spirited, strong, loving, and caring. Above all, she was devoted to her family and friends.
She is survived by her wonderful children, Annabelle Diane Fitzgerald and dear friend, Levi Spreng, of Aurora and Dillon Andrew Fitzgerald of Fullerton; her parents, Randy and Janeene Fitzgerald of Owasso, Okla.; brother, Brandon (Dawn Gomez and her children, Sean, Ian, Matthew, and Jocelyn Villanueva) Fitzgerald of Seguin, Texas, and Brianna (Dan) Cook of Fullerton; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Taylor, and Bryce Cook of Fullerton and Carmen Cano of Texas; aunts and uncles, Marcy and Doug Stunkel, Ron and Sandy Davis, Jim and Peg Davis, Laurie and John Slater, Deb and Chuck Braun, Scott and Jeanie Fitzgerald, Mark and Susan Fitzgerald, and Sandi Fitzgerald; good friend, Fred Harris; and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her significant other and father of her children, Josh Linville; grandparents, Don and Eva Fitzgerald and Kenneth Davis; cousins, Kenny, Tara Jo, and Anthony Davis; and uncle, David Fitzgerald.
