Phyllis Dubas, 92, of Columbus, died Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Omaha.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 27, at St. Anthony Church in Columbus. Visitation is Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. vigil service, all at the church. Burial is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
Phyllis Dubas was born on Oct. 1, 1932, to John and Mary (Joyce) McKenzie in Grand Island. She attended and graduated from Wolbach High School in 1949. Following graduation, she got her teaching certificate and taught rural country school for a few years.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Frank Dubas on Oct. 30, 1951, in Wolbach. In 1979, the family moved to Columbus. She worked at Dale Vishay until her retirement.
Phyllis was a woman of deep faith. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where she taught CCD. She enjoyed bowling on the family team, playing cards and occasional “shopping trips” to the casino.
Phyllis is survived by daughters, Diann (Ed) Herdzina of Columbus, Karen (Ken) Prososki of Fullerton, Mary (Al) Kluever of Columbus, Teresa (Mark) Roberts of Columbus, and Donna (Mike) Gray of Columbus; sons, Jim (Diana) Dubas of Columbus, Jerry (Renee) Dubas of Surprise, and Duane (Cheryl) Dubas of Raymond; daughters-in-law, Leanne Dubas of Duncan, and Suzy Dubas (Scott White) of Minnesota; 47 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Frank Dubas, who passed away on June 18, 2015; her parents; sons, Richard Dubas and Jay Dubas; grandchildren, Julie & A.J Dubas, Craig and Daniel Konwinski, Christine Yrkoski, Cody Gray and a step-grandchild Josh Kluever; great-grandson, Tyler Prososki; sisters, Dorthy (Fritz) Fenton and Pauline (Junior) Grossart; and brother, Jack McKenzie
