Robert Lee Boardman

Robert Lee Boardman, 89, of Bellevue, was born Aug. 30, 1936, to Bob and Mabel (Nauenburg) Boardman in rural St. Edward. He passed away on Jan. 14, 2026.

He attended District 14 in Nance County and attended Belgrade High School. In 1956 he and his brother, Billie, moved to Omaha for work.

On July 20, 1957, he married his soulmate, Madalyn Bussell of Fullerton. He was a kind and gentle man who was dearly loved and is greatly missed. Family camping trips were his greatest joy.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Madalyn; daughters, Janice Ristow of La Vista, Cheryl (Terry) Hawkins of Springfield, Pam (Mike) Trapp of Bellevue; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Billie Boardman of Springfield; sisters, Marcia (Glen) Byers of Roseburg, Ore., and Kathy (Bob) Sorensen of Fullerton; brother-inlaw, DuWayne (Jan) Bussell of Bellevue.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bobbie Lee Boardman; brother, Charles Boardman; sister, Mary Ann Smith; infant grandson, Christopher Ristow; and great-grandson, Alexzander Sanders.
