Twin River Superintendent and School Board Members, The first I was aware of the $48.5 million bond project was in the Nance County Journal newspaper or any other publication printed publicly that I am aware of. The Nance County Journal arrived on time in my mailbox the day after the Silver Creek meeting and a few days after the Monroe meeting. And I was not able to attend the Genoa meeting due to a prior commitment.
This information should have been publicized months ago to the Twin River School District taxpayers.
Until you convince me that we need four new gym facilities, I will vote NO!
We have good, up-to-date gyms in Monroe and Silver Creek that can be utilized, along with classrooms at Silver Creek that are empty. The travel distance is the same for students from Silver Creek vicinity as for Genoa students to travel to Silver Creek.
We taxpayers need to know the cost to bring the current Genoa school building up to code so that we can make wise voting decisions.
