At a time when people’s trust in government is waning, Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers issued an opinion that the Legislature’s Office of the Public Counsel, better known as the Ombudsman’s Office, is unconstitutional.

No place like Nebraska

This week Nebraskans proved there is truly no place like Nebraska. Who else can pack a football stadium with 92,003 fans for a women’s volleyball game? No one, that’s who. It’s never been done before. Nebraska fans set a WORLD record, not just a state record. Most of those fans know volleyball.

While flying for Delta we would go in and out of San Diego, CA a lot. We would land and take off to the west due to the prevailing winds, but also for noise abatement (near idle power over downtown on approach).

Annually, for most of my daughter’s life, we’ve stopped at Atalissa, Iowa to get a picture of our daughter next to the town sign. On a couple occasions we’ve also stopped at Riverside, Iowa to get a picture of our son next to the monument marking the “future birthplace” of Captain Kirk.

With New Knowledge comes New Discoveries

My son is a Boy Scout. Hopefully, he will become an Eagle Scout like his dad, his grandpa, his uncle, and not to mention eleven of the twelve men that walked on the moon. Whether he does or not, it has been an honor seeing the program help him and other boys mature into responsible young men.

Several years ago while flying at Delta I discovered the co-pilot I was flying with was a fellow farm boy, like me. Being in the cockpit with someone for 20-30 hours lends itself to a wide range of conversations.
