Be a bother; it’s better than the alternative

I nearly lost him and I never knew it. Over the weekend I found out that a friend from my youth group growing up had been struggling with depression. He shared in a Facebook post how he fought the battle by himself, fell into a bottle and almost took his life last year. It broke my heart.

Life is an adventure

I grew up in northwest Indiana and didn’t visit Nebraska until I was in junior high. I wish I could remember more about the trip. Memory is a funny thing. There are so many things I wish I could remember, and so many things I wish I could forget. But that’s a column for another day.

This last week, I saw many kids and teenagers with a passion for animals. Or at least I assume they have a passion for animals. I mean they clean poop out of stalls for free. Who does that? I clean one litter box, and don’t enjoy it.
