No. 10 Patriots too much for Titans

CLARKSON — They knew they had an uphill battle. Twin River opened the East Husker Conference Tournament on Friday taking on Class C-2 No. 10 Clarkson/Leigh. The Patriots kept their foot on the gas, cruising to a 60-21 first round win.

Schools short on wrestling tickets

Posts on social media have been flying around that some schools are not receiving all the tickets for state wrestling that they requested. This is probably true, but according to NSAA, it’s just a few of the schools. The NSAA assistant director Ron Higdon released a video explaining this.

Warriors fall to Eagles in 3OT thriller

NORFOLK — There was a lot of free basketball on Thursday in Norfolk. Four quarters were not enough to decide a winner between Fullerton and Lutheran-Northeast. The Warriors battled for three overtimes before Eagles were able to get the 59-50 win.

Titans’ defense swarms Hornets

GENOA — Earlier this month it looked like Delaney Reeg’s high school career may have been over. On Jan. 2, the Titans senior suffered an injury to her right wrist that threatened to keep her out the rest of the season.

Warriors return to mats after snow break

NELIGH — The Warrior wrestlers returned to action on Saturday after losing nearly two weeks because of winter snow and cancellations. Fullerton finished fifth overall out of 24 teams at the Neligh-Oakdale Invite with 100 team points. Elkhorn Valley won the team title with 174 points.

Titans learn East Husker tourney path

GENOA — Twin River learned their path for the East Husker Conference tournament. Twin River’s girls play Clarkson/Leigh in Clarkson on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The winner will advance to take on the winner of North Bend Central and Madison on Monday at 6 p.m. at Pender.

Warriors go 1-2 to finish 4th at Goldenrod

GREELEY — The Warrior boys finished fourth in the Goldenrod Conference Tournament last week. Fullerton opened the tournament on Wednesday in Humphrey at St. Francis with a 64-43 win over St. Edward. Kane Wetovick led the way with a game-high 25 points. Terrick Gonsior added 10 points.

Titans’ Fowler finishes 1st at Madison Invite

MADISON — After nearly two weeks off because of winter weather and snow cancellations, Twin River competed in the Madison Invite on Friday. Twin River finished 10th out of 13 teams at the event with 58 points. Lakeview took home the team title, edging Elkhorn Valley 203.5 to 190 team points.

Titans swat Hornets in 50-37 win

GENOA — They were on the attack from the opening tip. Twin River cruised to a 50-37 home win on Friday over Giltner. The Titans used an 11-0 run in the first quarter to take complete control of the contest.
