Ramaekers Advances to State in 3 Events

UTICA — He’s not done yet. Spencer Ramaekers turned the C-6 District track meet at Centennial into his own playground last week, as the Twin River grad qualified for three events at this week’s Class C State track meet. Ramaekers finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.

Golf Season Ends at D-2 District Meet

PENDER — Fullerton saw its golf season come to a close on Monday at the D-2 District at Twin Creek Golf Course in Pender. The Warriors finished seventh overall with a team score of 396. Pender won the District Title, shooting a 327 on the day.

Kernels Split Games At State

OMAHA — It’s win or go home for the Kernels. Central City / Fullerton / Centura split their first two games at State this week and are now one loss away from seeing their season come to an end. The Kernels opened State play with a 7-1 win over Wayne on Saturday.

STATE BOUND

OMAHA — These next races and jumps are for all the marbles. Nance County is sending 11 athletes to the 2023 Nebraska Class C & D State Championships, which is Friday and Saturday at Burke Stadium in Omaha. Twin River is Class C and Fullerton is Class D.

Kernels Heading Back to State, Again

CENTRAL CITY — The Kernels are heading back to Omaha. Central City/Fullerton/Centura (20-4) won the C-3 District last week, first by defeating Louisville/Weeping Water on Thursday and then punched their ticket to State with a 5-3 win over Arlington on Friday.

Titans Season Ends at Baseball District

HASTINGS — Twin River saw its baseball season come to an end on Thursday, falling 2-1 to Lincoln Christian in the opening round of District play. The Titans (9-11) got on the scoreboard first, scoring in the top of the third inning when Paydon Rinkol lined a two-out single to left field.

GRAND ISLAND — Fullerton saw three golfers play sub-100 golf as the Warriors finished second at the Goldenrod Conference meet on Thursday at Indianhead Golf Course. Jerrod Land led the way for Fullerton with a 96. Cade Russell finished with a 97 and Trey Swertzic shot a 99.

NORTH BEND — Wins were few and far between in a competitive East Husker Conference track meet on Saturday at Northbend High School. Spencer Ramaekers won the long jump with a 20-05.75 jump.
