A career for the record books

Fullerton senior Terrick Gonsior etched his name in the record books the last couple of seasons. As a senior he set the Fullerton single season record for charges drawn in a season with 32. He is also the career leader for charges drawn with 65 charges.

Area hoop stars receive conference honors

The post season honors continue to roll in.GOLDENROD CONFERENCE Fullerton’s Kane Wetovick was named to the all-conference first team. Terrick Gonsior and Jakob Supik were named to the all-conference second team. Jacob Maxfield was named an all-conference honorable mention.

Warrior season ends at State

LINCOLN — It was the tale of two halves.The Warriors basketball season came to an end in the opening round of the NSAA D-1 State Championship Tournament on Thursday at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. The No. 8 seed Fullerton (21-6) fell to the top-seeded Howells-Dodge, 57-37.

Nobody said the road would be easy.Fullerton enters the Class D-1 Boys Basketball State Championships on an 8-game winning streak. The Warriors are looking for their first win at State since 1962.Fullerton (21-5) opens the tournament taking on the top-seeded Howells-Dodge (23-3).

Warriors advance to District Final

FULLERTON — One more win. The Warriors need one more win to punch their tickets to Lincoln.Fullerton (20-5) held up on for 39-36 win over Riverside in the D1-6 Sub-District on Thursday. The win propels the Warriors to the D1-7 District Final on Saturday against Overton.

CENTRAL CITY — There is a new scoring champ in Fullerton.When Kane Wetovick drove to the basket with 7:04 remaining in the first half, the Fullerton junior etched his name in Warriors’ history. With that basket he tied Brandon Rasmussen’s school record of 1,280 career points.

Warriors add road wins over Chargers, Lightning

CEDAR RAPIDS — Put a couple more in the win column.Class D-1 No. 5 Fullerton picked up road wins last week over Riverside and Grand Island Lutheran.On Thursday Fullerton cruised to a 58-47 win over Riverside.“Riverside is a really good team,” Fullerton coach Will Wagner said.
