Titans learn CRC Tournament paths

YORK — The Titans have learned their pairings for their first conference basketball tournament since joining the Crossroads Conference this year.The Twin River girls’ team is the No. 7 seed, and they will take on No. 10 Meridian on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m. at York University.

Titan defense steps up, leads to win over Panthers

ST. EDWARD — The outcome was never in doubt.Twin River (6-4) opened the game shooting the lights out in St. Edward, cruising to a 55-29 win over Newman Grove/St. Edward. Never trailing in the game, the Titans used stingy defense and a red-hot offense to take control early. They never looked back.

Titans hold on for road win over Tigers

BRAINARD — Good teams find ways to win.Twin River jumped out to an early lead and kept the pressure on East Butler as the Titans cruised to a 48-41 win on the road. The Tigers were held scoreless for nearly 4 minutes at the end of the third quarter.

STANTON — That’s how you bounce back from a loss. You make your next opponent pay.Twin River picked up a win on Saturday in the consolation game of the Stanton Holiday Tournament, defeating Neligh-Oakdale 55-24 to improve to 4-3 on the season.

Titans beat Warriors 45-24, first win in five matchups

FULLERTON — There are certain games that teams circle on their calendars. Games against conference and district opponents always carry added weight. Rivalry games also matter a little more.Twin River coach Matthew Quick said that his team’s 45-24 win over Fullerton was a statement win.

Titans hold off Knight rally for win

GENOA — Apparently no one likes a boring blowout.Twin River (2-1) let Nebraska Lutheran hang around before pulling away in the closing minutes to win 46-38. The Knights fought back from a 17-point deficit to cut the Titan lead to 10 points with 5:38 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Titans’ defense leads to win over Huskies

GENOA — The Titan threw everything they had at the Huskies. If they had a kitchen sink, they probably would have thrown that as well.Twin River used smothering defense and a face-paced offense to slow down Shelby-Rising City in a 51-17 win.

Titans fall at home to open season against No. 8 Eagles

GENOA — Nebraska Christian’s pressure defense was too much for Twin River on Thursday.The Titans fell to the Class D1 No. 8 Eagles 63-41 to open the season. Twin River (0-1) struggled against the Nebraska Christian (1-0) press throughout the contest.

Titans look for quick start to season

GENOA — Keep the ball moving.Twin River will look to build off the 5-3 finish from last year’s season as they open the 2024-2025 campaign. Titans Coach Matthew Quick said that their strong finish needs to carry-over to this year’s squad.
