Titans close out 2023 at Fillmore Central Invite

GENEVA — Twin River wrestlers closed out 2023 at the Fillmore Central Invite on Saturday. Twin River finished 11th overall with 58 team points. Fillmore Central (166 points) edged-out Doniphan Trumbull (160.5 points) for the team title. Zach Held was undefeated at 113 pounds.

County sees 3 wresting champs

ELGIN — Fullerton and Twin River competed over the weekend at the Elgin-Pope John Invite. Fullerton finished 8th out of 14 teams on Saturday. Twin River finished 10th at the competition. Neither school had wrestlers face off against each other at the event.

Titans fall to Tigers in dual, 42-18

Held first at North Bend Invite

NORTH BEND — Twin River competed at the North Bend Invite on Saturday at North Bend Central High School. The Titans finished 12th overall at the invite. Zachary Held went 2-0 on the day, picking up a pair of pins, to win the 113-pound weight class.

COLUMBUS — The final score can be deceiving. Zachary Held Adam Schroder Twin River traveled to Columbus on Thursday to take on Lakeview in a wrestling dual. The Vikings defeated the Titans 72-9, but Lakeview received 60 points from forfeited weight classes.
Zachary Held finished undefeated on the day at 113 pounds. He finished the day 3-0 with two pins in under a minute.

Titan wrestlers have state aspirations

GENOA — Twin River has high hopes for the wrestling season. Coach Kalin Koch said that this year’s group features nine guys with a range of experience. The team is just a week into practice and are already forming good habits on the mat.
