OMAHA — Three Nance County wrestlers stood tall with medals around their necks on Saturday.Twin River wrestled in the Class C State Championships and Fullerton wrestled in the Class D State Championships. The three-day event took place at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.

Titan season ends at sub-district

HEBRON — Twin River saw their season come to an end on Thursday in the C2-9 Sub-District semifinal, falling to host Thayer Central, 58-27.The Titan offense was slow out of the gate, struggling to get quality shots on the basket.

Titan, Warrior boys learn sub-district paths

The paths are set.The Warriors and Titans boys’ basketball teams learned their sub-district opponents on Tuesday.No. 4 seed Twin River (10-12) is set to play Superior (1-20) in the opening round of the C2-9 sub-district at Alma on Monday for a chance to play top-seeded Alma (20-2) on Tuesday.

Let the postseason begin

Fullerton and Twin River girls are playing the waiting game.Winter weather has closed schools, slowed travel and postponed the start of the girls’ subdistrict games.Twin River was originally set to face off with Ravena on Monday at Thayer Central in Hebron.

Titans drop close one to Bulldogs

GENOA — The game was closer than the scoreboard shows.Twin River battled all game in a game-and-forth matchup with Humphrey-Lindsay. A game that featured numerous lead changes and shifts in momentum, the Bulldogs held on for a 51-46 win on Thursday.

Bulldogs too much for Titans in regular season finale

GENOA — It’s not the way the Titans wanted to head into the postseason.Twin River closed out the regular season on Thursday with a 60-26 loss to Humphrey Lindsay. The Titans were held to just 7 first half points and trailed by 31 points at the intermission.Mya Ramaekers led the Titans with 6 points.

TEKAMAH — Zach Held punched his ticket to the NSAA Class C State at the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha.Twin River finished 12th overall with 41.5 points at the NSAA Class C District 2 at Tekamah-Herman. David City (166.5 points) edged Cedar Catholic (164.0 points) for the team district title.
