Titans, Warriors shine at Elgin Invite

ELGIN — Fullerton and Twin River traveled to Elgin on Saturday for the Elgin/Pope John Invite.Plainview (along with their team of 17 wrestlers) took home the team title, edging Central Valley 177 points to 132 points. Fullerton finished sixth overall with 71.5 points.

Titans hold off Knight rally for win

GENOA — Apparently no one likes a boring blowout.Twin River (2-1) let Nebraska Lutheran hang around before pulling away in the closing minutes to win 46-38. The Knights fought back from a 17-point deficit to cut the Titan lead to 10 points with 5:38 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Titans top Knights for 1st win of year

GENOA— Twin River put an end to a two-game losing streak last week, defeating Nebraska Lutheran 63-50 to pick up their first win of the season.Twin River opened the game game-hot from the field, building to a 6-point lead after the first quarter.

Titans’ defense leads to win over Huskies

GENOA — The Titan threw everything they had at the Huskies. If they had a kitchen sink, they probably would have thrown that as well.Twin River used smothering defense and a face-paced offense to slow down Shelby-Rising City in a 51-17 win.

Titans fall in 2 close games

GENOA— The Titans opened the season with a pair of losses at home, but they lost by a combined three total points.Twin River opened the season on Thursday with a 42-41 loss to Nebraska Christian and followed that up by a 48-46 loss to Shelby-Rising City on Saturday.

Titans fall at home to open season against No. 8 Eagles

GENOA — Nebraska Christian’s pressure defense was too much for Twin River on Thursday.The Titans fell to the Class D1 No. 8 Eagles 63-41 to open the season. Twin River (0-1) struggled against the Nebraska Christian (1-0) press throughout the contest.

GENOA — Twin River has two goals for the season: compete every possession and reach their potential as a group.That is the message that Titans coach Gabe Stalder is telling his squad this season.

Titans look for quick start to season

GENOA — Keep the ball moving.Twin River will look to build off the 5-3 finish from last year’s season as they open the 2024-2025 campaign. Titans Coach Matthew Quick said that their strong finish needs to carry-over to this year’s squad.
