Titans look to improve every day

GENOA — Twin River may not be the deepest team on the golf course, but the Titans will look to compete every time they step up to the tee.“With only six out, the challenge will be to get everyone playing their best golf every time out,” Twin River coach Scott Fehringer said.

Titans earn East Husker season honors

GENOA — Several Titans are receiving all-conference honors following the conclusion of the basketball season.Senior Kirk Hebda was named to the East Husker All-Conference second team. Seniors Tim Jarecki and Ryder Kleckner and junior Paydon Rinkol received all-conference honorable mentions.

Titans get 1st taste of track season

CRETE — Twin River got its first taste of competition on Friday when the Titans track team competed in the Doane University Class C Invite.Ryder Kleckner won the shot put with a throw of 47-2.

GENOA— Twin River has announced that they are dissolving their girls wrestling cooperative with Lakeview.The Twin River Board of Education unanimously approved the move at their meeting on Monday.Superintendent Jason Schapmann said the reason to dissolve the coop comes down to numbers.

Kleckner to play in All-Star game

GENOA — Twin River senior Ryder Kleckner has been selected to play in the 2024 Northeast Nebraska All-Star Football Classic. Credited as one of the keys to success for Twin River’s rushing attack, Kleckner is set to anchor the offensive line for the white team.

RIVALRIES RENEWED

GENOA — Twin River is leaving the East Husker Conference next year. The Titans have been accepted into the Crossroads Conference, a move that will bring back a number of rivalries from decades past.

Area teams learn district assignments

Monday marked the official start of the spring sports season and teams are now able to begin holding practices. Last week the Nebraska School Activities Association announced the district assignments for track teams across the state. Fullerton will host the District D-5 meet on May 8.

Bridger wins State Title

OMAHA — It was a storybook ending. Fullerton senior Brett Bridger was standing tall atop the podium in Omaha on Saturday, with gold around his neck. He is a State Champion.

Twin River season ends with loss to Cross County

STROMSBURG — The Titans had an early lead, but could not slow the Cougars in the second quarter. Cross County (20-5) used a 22-point second quarter to take control of Twin River on their way to a 68-60 semifinal win in the C2-4 Sub-District.
