Titans enter second year of 8-man football

GENOA — It may be only year No. 2 for 8-man football, but the Titans anticipate taking that next step out on the field this season. Coach Kalin Koch said that they expect to be competitive in most games this season and look for the wins to pile up.

Senior leadership will lead deep Titan roster this year

GENOA — Depth can solve a lot of problems. When someone is having an off night, a coach can go to the bench for a fresh player. Twin River will have the luxury of playing with a deep roster this year, coach Julie Strain said. “We are very positive with the outlook of the season,” she said.

Sports now streaming on Hudl

Fullerton and Twin River sports have a new streaming home. Both schools will be streaming all home sporting events on Hudl. Sports fans will still be able to watch home games from their couch, they just have to go to a new web address. A link is available on both school websites.

Titans softball off to hot start

DAVID CITY — Twin River opened the softball season with a pair of road wins over Blue River on Thursday. The Titans (2-0) gave up 8 runs over the final three innings of the opening contest, but were able to hold off a Panther (0-2) rally for a 10-9 win in game one.

Titans open season with pair of wins

DAVID CITY — Twin River opened the softball season with a pair of road wins over Blue River on Thursday. The Titans (2-0) gave up 8 runs over the final three innings of the opening contest, but were able to hold off a Panther (0-2) rally for a 10-9 win in game one.

District assignments announced

The Nebraska School Activities Association has started to announce fall district assignments. Fullerton and Twin River athletes now know what schools they will have to compete against for an opportunity to go to state. Girls Golf Fullerton has been assigned to the C-2 district.

Titans expect to compete for titles

GENOA — The talent is there. The experience is there. Now they have to put it all together. Twin River will look to take the next step when they open the softball season on Thursday. The Titans travel to Schuyler for a triangular with Schuyler and Blue River. First pitch is at 4:30 p.m.

Monday marked the first official day of practice for high school teams across the state. Fullerton and Twin River teams are busy preparing for their first contest later this month.

Titans, Warriors honored for academics
