Upcoming District Schedule

Area teams are entering the final weeks of their seasons. Baseball Twin River takes on Lincoln Christian in the C-2 District at Plattsmouth on Thursday. Central City/Fullerton/Centura play host to Louisville in the C-3 District on Thursday.

Kernels Sweep Titans, Vikings

CENTRAL CITY — The Kernels used a 10 run second inning to take complete control of Omaha North as Central City/Fullerton/Centura defeated the Vikings 29-4 in 5 innings on Thursday. The Kernels added 11 runs in the fourth inning as the offense exploded for 20 hits in the game.

Warriors, Titans Compete Among Area’s Best

GRAND ISLAND — It was a showcase of some of the best track stars in Central Nebraska, and may have been a small preview of the State Track & Field Championship meet coming next month in Omaha.

Titans Finish as Runner-up at Own Invite

GENOA — Twin River played host to nine track teams on Thursday for the Twin River Invite. Spencer Ramaekers won the long jump, leaping 21-00.50. He also finished second in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Owen O’Kelley won the pole vault, clearing 12-00.00.

Titans Drop Pair of Road Games

The Titans dropped a pair of road games last week. On Tuesday, Twin River (8-7) traveled to Wayne and fell 2-0 to the Devils. Paydon Rinkol went 2-for-3 on the day as the Titans struggled to get just four hits. Korbe Urkoski and Garrett Alexander had the other two hits for the road team.

Titans Hold on for 7-6 Win

GENOA — The Titans held off a late rally by the Cardinals on Thursday for a 7-6 win. Twin River got on the scoreboard in the first inning, added three runs in the second and two more in the third to take control of the game against South Sioux City.

Titans Win Thanks to 2-out Rally

GENOA — The Titans won a back-and-forth game on Thursday to improve to 3-2 on the year. Twin River defeated Raymond Central 13-11 at Genoa City Park.  Trailing 10-9 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Titans scored four runs to take a 13-10 lead.

Titans Struggle Offensively in Loss at David City

The Twin River Lady Titans struggled on the offensive end Friday in David City and came home with a 51-21 defeat at the hands of the Scouts. Clara Preister led the Titans with 11 points to lead the way offensively.

By Beth Sparrow GENOA — Twin River hosted Tekamah-Herman in a conference match-up on Saturday. Twin River started out scoring first putting up six points before the Tigers called a timeout with 5:59 on the clock.

Twin River Youth Football Receives Grant

The Nance County Foundation awarded a grant to the Twin River youth football program in the amount of $5,000. Funds will be used to purchase football equipment for the program.
