Voters send message at polls

NANCE COUNTY — Americans across the country went to the polls on Tuesday to decide the direction of the future.Nance County residents returned 1,864 ballots in this week’s General Election. Voter turnout in the county was an eye-popping 77.44 percent. Nebraska’s statewide voter turnout was 73.

Veterans Dinner set for Nov. 11

FULLERTON — The community is invited to the Community Veterans Dinner on Veteran’s Day at the Nance County Veterans Museum.The dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. The menu includes ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, lettuce salad, pumpkin bar, roll and a beverage.

LLNRD to host informational meetings in St. Paul and Palmer

Spring static water level readings that the Lower Loup NRD staff has collected twice annually since 1975 have indicated that Water Quantity Management Area 19 has become an area of concern regarding groundwater depletions and ongoing drought impacts.

NCJ office closed Thursday afternoon, Friday

The Nance County Journal offices will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday and remain closed all day on Friday.Fullerton’s football team travels to Bancroft to take on Bancroft-Rosalie in the opening round of the Class D-2 playoffs. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

Officials: Not a sanctuary county

FULLERTON — Don’t trust everything you read online.Nance County official want to make it clear that Nance County is not a sanctuary county when it comes to people entering the United States illegally. The Nance County Supervisors passed a resolution reaffirming that fact at their Sept. 24 meeting.
