Warriors building on past success

FULLERTON — It’s not a rebuilding season so much as building on a foundation that has already been poured. Fullerton girls opens the season at home against Burwell on Thursday, Nov. 30. Coach Jason Maxfield said that he wants to see steady improvement all season long.

Warriors see conference recognition

FULLERTON — Five members of the Fullerton volleyball team were recognized by the Goldenrod Athletic Conference when All-Conference teams were announced last week. Senior McKenna Plumbtree was named to the Goldenrod All-Conference First Team. She led the team with 486 kills and 345 digs.

Basketball sub-districts announced

The basketball season is a week away, but teams have learned who they will have to go through for a chance to make it to Lincoln. Teams only learn who has been placed in the Sub-District, not the host site.

Basketball fans may notice rule changes

Beginning this year, high school basketball teams will shoot two free throws for common fouls when in the “bonus.” This change to Rule 4-8-1 eliminates the one-and-one scenario and sets new foul limits each quarter for awarding the bonus free throw.

The path to Lincoln is set. The Nebraska School Activities Association released district and sub-district assignments on Monday. Boys Assignment Fullerton and Twin River have been assigned to District D-3 and will compete Feb. 9-10 at Pleasanton.

Warriors named to All-District teams

FULLERTON — Football season is over, but the honors are still rolling in. Four members of the Warriors were selected to the D2-5 All-District first team. Two players were selected to the second team and two players earned honorable mentions.
