Warriors fall to No. 6 Flyers, 40-8

HUMPHREY — Fullerton saw its season come to an end on Thursday, falling 40-8 to Humphrey St. Francis in the opening round of the D-2 football playoffs.

Longhorns end Warriors season

BURWELL — The Warriors will have to wait until next year to get revenge. Fullerton (18-11) saw it’s season come to an end on Tuesday in the D1-7 Sub-District Final at Burwell, falling 16-25, 25-12, 25-18, 26-24 to the host school.

Warriors have strong showing at state meet

KEARNEY — Friday afternoon was the culmination of a lot of hard work that goes back to the summer. Fullerton had two runners compete in the Class D NSAA State Cross Country Meet at Kearney Country Club.

Warriors take on Wolves to open Sub-District

BURWELL — The path is set. The NSAA released the bracket for the D1-7 Sub-District on Thursday and Fullerton now knows what they need to do to make it to Lincoln. The Warriors open Sub-District play on Monday at Burwell when Fullerton (15-10) takes on the No. 3 seed Twin Loup (17-12) at 7:15 p.m.

Storm ground attack too much for Warriors

CLARKS — Friday’s regular season finale was more of a track meet than a football game. High Plains used a smash mouth, ground and pound offense to keep the chains and clock moving on their way to a 32-20 win over Fullerton to close out the regular season.

Fullerton takes on No. 6 St. Francis in first round

HUMPHREY — This is what they played for all season. Fullerton (4-4) travels to Humphrey on Thursday to take on St. Francis (7-1) in the opening round of the D2 playoffs. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The Flyers’ only loss this season came week 2, when No. 2 Wynot defeated St. Francis 14-6 in Humphrey.

Warriors finish 4th in conference

ST. EDWARD — The Warriors finished fourth in the Goldenrod Conference volleyball tournament over the weekend. Fullerton opened play on Saturday against Central Valley with a chance to play for the conference title on the line. The Cougars defeated the Warriors 2515, 25-17, 25-23.

HASTINGS — The Warriors are sending two runners to state. Justin Horn and Morgan Supik qualified for the NSAA Cross Country Championship on Oct. 20 at Kearney Country Club. Fullerton ran in the D-4 District at Elks Country Club on Wednesday.

Plumbtree hits 1,000th career kill

FULLERTON — McKenna Plumbtree hit her 1,000th career kill last week in a tightly contested match with D-1 No. 8 Nebraska Christian. The Eagles defeated the Warriors 25-20, 2521, 25-23 last Tuesday.
