Warriors medal at Central Valley

GREELEY — A pair of Warriors stood tall on the medal stand on Friday at the Central Valley Invite.Tate Wood (120 pounds) finished third. He went 3-1 on the day. Isaac Carey (285 pounds) finished fourth.Fullerton travels to East Butler on Thursday for the Crossroads Conference meet.

Warriors fall to Defenders in OT

GREELEY — Another 10 seconds and the outcome could have been different. Another 30 seconds and the lead could have changed three times.Class D-2 No. 2 Archangels Catholic held on for a 59-57 win in overtime to take home the Goldenrod Conference Tournament title on Saturday at Central Valley.

NELIGH — Tate Wood reached a career milestone over the weekend at the Neligh-Oakdale Invite.The Fullerton wrestler won his 100th career match on his way to a second-place finish at 120 pounds. The junior finished the day going 2-1 with a pin and a tech fall.

NELIGH — Fullerton traveled to Neligh on Friday for a girls wrestling invitational.Delylla Olson finished second at 140 pounds at the Neligh-Oakdale Invite. She finished the day 1-1.The Warriors are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Albion for the Boone Central Invite.

Warriors top Titans in county dual

FULLERTON — It was a battle for county supremacy.Fullerton and Twin River met for a dual on Thursday, with the Warriors holding on for a 36-24 win. Only four matches were contested, with both teams securing two wins.Twin River’s Aden Andel pinned Timothy Hittner in 3:52 for the win at 144 pounds.

BATTLE CREEK — Fullerton’s girls wrestling had a busy couple of days, wrestling at Battle Creek on Monday, Dunning on Saturday and Elm Creek on Friday.Taylor Cook (110 pounds) and Delylla Olson (140 pounds) each picked up wins on Monday at the Battle Creek Invite.

BURWELL — Free throw struggles helped lead the Warriors to an early exit from the Goldenrod Conference Tournament.Fullerton connected on just 11-of-28 free throw attempts in Saturday’s 41-30 opening round loss to Burwell.
