Warriors add road wins over Chargers, Lightning

CEDAR RAPIDS — Put a couple more in the win column.Class D-1 No. 5 Fullerton picked up road wins last week over Riverside and Grand Island Lutheran.On Thursday Fullerton cruised to a 58-47 win over Riverside.“Riverside is a really good team,” Fullerton coach Will Wagner said.

Wrestlers prepare for district meet

BRAINARD — The CRC Boys Wrestling Tournament was held at East Butler on Thursday with seven Crossroads Conference teams joined by Goldenrod’s Riverside, Palmer, Fullerton and Newman Grove/St Ed for competition.East Butler feasted on home cooking as they edged Cross County/Osceola 156.

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Warriors enter the final week of the season still looking for that elusive second win.Fullerton fell to Riverside 49-29 on Thursday and Grand Island Lutheran 58-36 on Saturday.The Warriors continue to show improvement as the season winds down.

Girls wrestling season ends at district

COLUMBUS — The Fullerton girls wrestling season came to an end on Friday as both wrestlers who were competing for the Warriors lost their first and second round matches.Battle Creek, Lakeview and Ord finished in the top three spots in the team race in the Class B District 2 at Lakeview.

Warriors split with Eagles, Bulldogs

FULLERTON — The Warriors settled for a split last week as the Warriors improved to 14-5 on the year.Class D-1 No. 4 Fullerton bounced back from a 50-42 road loss on Thursday to Class D-1 No. 2 Lutheran-Northeast to defeat Pleasanton 53-36 at home on Friday.

FULLERTON — The struggles continued last week for Fullerton as the Warriors continue to look for their second win of the season.Fullerton dropped a game at home on Friday, falling 62-37 to Pleasanton and on the road to Lutheran-Northeast 41-26 on Thursday.

Warrior duo wrestles in Albion

ALBION — Fullerton’s wrestling duo was in action on Saturday at the Dale Bonge Invitational at Boone Central.Delylla Olson finished fourth overall at 140 pounds. She finished 1-2 on the day with a pin.

Warriors medal at Central Valley

GREELEY — A pair of Warriors stood tall on the medal stand on Friday at the Central Valley Invite.Tate Wood (120 pounds) finished third. He went 3-1 on the day. Isaac Carey (285 pounds) finished fourth.Fullerton travels to East Butler on Thursday for the Crossroads Conference meet.

Warriors fall to Defenders in OT

GREELEY — Another 10 seconds and the outcome could have been different. Another 30 seconds and the lead could have changed three times.Class D-2 No. 2 Archangels Catholic held on for a 59-57 win in overtime to take home the Goldenrod Conference Tournament title on Saturday at Central Valley.
