Celebrate freedom on Friday

FULLERTON — There is plenty to do on the Fourth of July in Fullerton.The veteran’s museum is once again hosting a car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration for the car show begins at 9 a.m.Fullerton FFA is sponsoring a sand volleyball tournament in the city park.

First human case of West Nile Virus reported

LINCOLN — The first reported human case of West Nile virus (WNV) for the 2025 season has been detected in the East Central District Health Department.East Central District Health Department serves Boone, Colfax, Nance and Platte counties.

DAYS OF FUN

Crowds flocked to the Nance County Fairgrounds last week for the Nance County Festival. The festival kicked off on Thursday and ran until Saturday and featured live music each night, plenty of food to eat, a free carnival in the baseball outfield and fireworks. 

Fullerton implements water restrictions

FULLERTON — The Fullerton City Council voted to restrict residents watering their lawns to just three days a week.The council unanimously approved a plan to limit water usage to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with lawn watering prohibited between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

FULLERTON — The Nance County Festival opens this week and there has been plenty of work behind the scenes to bring it to the community.The Nance County Ag Society are always working to make improvements at the fairgrounds. This year is no different.

The temperature may have read 97 degrees, but that did not slow down Fullerton’s drivers. Cruise Night returned to downtown on Broadway on Saturday night. A modest crowd lined the street to see what cars would drive down the street.

FULLERTON — Parade entries are still be accepted for the Fullerton Fourth of July parade.The parade, sponsored by the Fullerton Area Chamber of Commerce, is set for July 4 at 4 p.m. The parade route begins at the library and will run down Broadway.
