Busy month coming to library

We have a busy month of October in the library.  Mark your calendar and stop in to sign up for these fun programs in the library!Preschool Storytime is every Monday morning at 10:30 am in the library with Mrs. Liesch.PAWS for Reading is every Monday from 3:45-4:45pm at the library.

FALL, BBQ FILLS AIR

FULLERTON — The smell of barbecue sauce was in the air on Saturday.The Fullerton Fall Festival featured six teams competing in the annual BBQ Cookoff.

‘Flamingos’ set up nests in Fullerton

FULLERTON — A flock of flamingos were seen recently staking out possible locations for potential nests around Fullerton.Not native to Nance County, these birds spook easily and can be tricky to get rid of, but a group of Fullerton choir students have the solution.

Moose seen near Fullerton

FULLERTON — Here is something you don’t see every day.Video has popped up of a moose casually walking in a field not too far from North Star Church just west of Fullerton.The moose is being monitored by the Nebraska Game and Parks and the Nance County Sheriff’s Office.

Reeg makes first appearance in court

COLUMBUS — Court documents reveal what led to the death of a Fullerton woman earlier this month.Jack Reeg, 25, of Columbus, made his first court appearance on Thursday. He is charged with second degree murder, terroristic threats and two counts of use of a firearm to commit a felony.

TAKING THE SHOW ON THE ROAD

FULLERTON — The Fullerton Marching Band spends their mornings marching and practicing their music on the streets of Fullerton. Now they are taking their show on the road.Fullerton will travel to Columbus on Saturday for the 51st annual Columbus Marching Festival. The parade begins at 10 a.m.

City, Lower Loup NRD to remove old dam

FULLERTON — The city of Fullerton and Lower Loup NRD are looking at removing the dam at Power House Park.The Fullerton City Council voted in favor of moving forward with the project at their meeting last week.

Hunter safety class coming to Fullerton

FULLERTON — A Nebraska Hunt Safe Session is coming to Fullerton.Jon Epley is organizing a class on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 9-11 a.m. at the Nance County Veteran’s Memorial Museum. Registration is available at the Nebraska Game & Parks website.

Fullerton under boil order

FULLERTON — The city of Fullerton was placed under a boil order last week after the city was notified of E. coli found in Fullerton’s water supply.City Administrator Patty Noble said the city learned of the positive test on Thursday afternoon.
