Fullerton adds new teaching program

FULLERTON — Nebraska is facing a teacher shortage and Fullerton Public Schools is being proactive. The Fullerton Schools Board of Education approved a new Pathway to Teaching program on Monday at the board’s monthly meeting.

County switches to Beacon

Following a careful review process and a confident recommendation, Nance County selected Schneider Geospatial’s Beacon™ product as the foremost applicable option for a new GIS public access website that allows users to interact and view county information, public records and GIS maps.

‘A Building for Everyone’

FULLERTON — In January of this year, the foundation was poured for the new addition to the Nance County Veterans Museum and Military Resource Center. Within only a few weeks, a matching metal addition was erected.

Holy Cow Coffee earns First Dollar award

Holy Cow Coffee LLC was presented with a First Dollar award by Chamber President Suzanne Schweitz. The business is owned and operated by Riley (Goob) Lane and his fiancé Carly Fangman. They purchased the trailer and equipment last February then opened April of 2023.

Supervisors race to be contested

Nance County voters will have a decision to make in May. The County Supervisor race will be contested during the May primary election after Scott Russell filed his paperwork to appear on the ballot. He joins incumbents Andrew Ditter, Ralph (Butch) Horacek and Gary G. Juracek in the race.

FULLERTON — Fullerton alumni who went to school in the late 1980s may recall a tall, athletic exchange student from Germany. Jochen Buhr came to Fullerton High School during the 1986-1987 school year. “I had never heard of Nebraska until I got the paperwork,” he recalled during his recent visit.
