KEARNEY — Not a bad way to finish a speech season.Twin River returned home from the NSAA State Speech Championships in Kearney with a lot of hardware. The team medaled in 9 of the 10 categories and finished the day as runner-up in the team sweepstakes.

GENOA — Denny Backman and Bob Patrick both joined the U.S. Army in 1954. They both served overseas in Germany. And on Thursday, both men were recognized for their many years of continuous membership to the American Legion.

GENOA — Soon there may be no such thing as a free lunch.Twin River is considering eliminating its free lunch program for the summer months. The Twin River Board of Education discussed the program on Monday at their regular March meeting.
