DIGGING OUT

It appears the worst is behind us. Nance County residents, as well as people across central Nebraska, find themselves digging out of the second round of winter storms to hit the area in a week. According to the National Weather Service, snow totals in the last week vary from 6 to 10 inches.

Nance County Hot Shots to begin practice

FULLERTON — January marks the beginning of a new year of practices and competitions for the Nance County Hot Shots 4-H club.
Sundogs appear when sunlight passes through a thin veil of ice crystal clouds (usually cirrus or cirrostratus), and the ice acts as a prism, refracting the light. A sundog is seen about 22 degrees to the left or right of the Sun. Sundogs often form in pairs on either side of the Sun. NCJ photo by Cathy Cook

GENOA— Twin River schools are going back to the voters. The school district has scheduled two public meetings for later this month to get information from the public on what they would like to see in a proposal for a new school building.

Fullerton, Nance County and the rest of central Nebraska spent Tuesday digging-out following Monday’s snowfall. The forecast called for nearly a foot of snow in places, but less than 3 inches of snow fell. The wind and blowing snow was more of a problem.
