My wife Theresa and I moved into Assisted Living in Genoa, Nebraska in May of 2021. We were both 89 years old. I first saw Rhonda Rother as she slowly walked down the hallway to the dining room. She used a self standing cane and held onto the rail.

Sunday, October 1 is designated as Life Chain Sunday across the nation. Columbus area churches will come together with other Nebraska communities and over 1,000 communities in the United States and Canada to pray together for the end of abortion and for the victims of abortion.

Gottsch promoted to Equipment Operator

COLUMBUS — Loup Power District recently promoted Scott Gottsch to Equipment Operator.
In his new role, Gottsch operates the District’s heavy equipment and is part of the crew that performs maintenance on the canal system from Genoa to Columbus.

COLUMBUS — Headworks Supervisor Randy Prososki was recently recognized for 30 years of service to Loup Power District.
Prososki joined Loup in 1993 as a Maintenance Technician at the Headworks. He was promoted to Dredge Operator in 1997 and transferred to Heavy Equipment Operator in 2018.

GENOA — On Friday, Sept. 8, we had our first Little Ones story time of the school year. We started with the letter A! We read Chicka Chicka 123 by Bill Martin Jr., decorated an apple tree with stickers, and used apples as paint stamps! On Friday, Sept. 15, we talked about the letter B.

GENOA — The voters have spoken.Twin River will not be getting a new school building, at least not at this time. A special election was held last Tuesday to decide the fate of a $48.5 million bond for a new school building. Preliminary results show measure failed, 659-512.
