COLUMBUS — Jamie Held has been promoted to Hydro Superintendent at Loup Power District. He is training with Hydro Superintendent Brad Morton who is retiring next year.

FULLERTON — While most Americans are slowing down as the holiday season arrives, the U.S. Postal Service is heading into their busiest time of year.Fullerton Postmaster Tom Bates said that they have already started to see an increase in letters and packages coming through Nance County.

Genoa Medical Foundation gifts van to Genoa Medical Facilities

GENOA, NEBRASKA— Genoa Medical Foundation donated a van to Genoa Medical Facilities for transportation for patients, residents and tenants. The van is a 2023 Ford Transit- 8 passenger van. It is wheelchair accessible with the capability of holding two wheelchairs. It also has an extra wide ramp.

Genoa amends snow ordinance

GENOA — The Genoa City Council unanimously voted to amend the city’s snow ordinance at their November meeting last week.The change adds leaves, grass and weeds to the existing ordinance.
Fullerton’s junior class returned home on Thursday with the traveling trophy after winning a round of Jeopardy against Twin River at the end of County Government Day. Students were quizzed with things they learned throughout the day.

County Government Day

Part of County Government Day includes visiting the different offices around the courthouse. Fullerton and Twin River juniors spent their afternoon meeting with county officials and learning the different aspects of local government.

Remainder of November SNAP benefits issued to Nebraskans

LINCOLN — Today, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) distributed the remaining balance of November Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to all Nebraska recipients.This disbursement brings households to their full monthly SNAP amount for November.

Trade ‘Toys for Treats’ after Halloween

FULLERTON — Fullerton Dental Care will once again be participating in the “Toys for Treats” Halloween candy trade-in program. The event is sponsored by United Concordia Dental insurance.Beginning Monday, Nov. 3, the first 15 children up to age 12, may trade in candy for a $10 Amazon gift card.
