4-H’ers ready for showcase

FULLERTON — It all comes down to this week. Nance County 4-H’ers have been working hard for months and this week is their time to shine. The 4-H Showcase is underway.

Kids make most of detasseling season

FULLERTON — Every July, young people across the state start their day well before dawn to participate in what many consider a rural Nebraskan right of passage. Detasseling is hot hard work and thousands of kids starting as young as age 12 do it every July.

GENOA — There is plenty of things going this month in and around Genoa. Pawnee Days in Genoa. Thursday, July 27: Little Britches Rodeo. Friday, July 28: Food trucks, beer garden, adult music bingo.

Fun at the Nance County Fair

The Nance County Fair was fun for people of all ages. Kysen Ware of Lincoln and Sawyer Russell of Fullerton enjoyed the mutton busting.

Scholarships available to archaeology majors

The Nebraska Archaeological Society is offering two scholarships to college students who are majoring in archaeology: the Dana Deger Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship honors Dana Deger who was active in the Archaeological Field.
