First human case of West Nile Virus reported

LINCOLN — The first reported human case of West Nile virus (WNV) for the 2025 season has been detected in the East Central District Health Department.East Central District Health Department serves Boone, Colfax, Nance and Platte counties.

Crowds flocked to the Nance County Fairgrounds last week for the Nance County Festival. The festival kicked off on Thursday and ran until Saturday and featured live music each night, plenty of food to eat, a free carnival in the baseball outfield and fireworks.

FULLERTON — The Nance County Festival opens this week and there has been plenty of work behind the scenes to bring it to the community.The Nance County Ag Society are always working to make improvements at the fairgrounds. This year is no different.

Twin River to look at district policies

GENOA — It’s always good to review school policies.The Twin River Board of Education are reviewing 26 school policies after receiving suggested changes from KSB, who serves as the district’s attorney. Some of the revisions come after changes in legislation passed by the legislature.

Veterans hosting coloring contest

The Nance County Veterans Memorial & Military Resource Center is sponsoring a county coloring contest for youth in entering kindergarten through fourth grade.The picture to color may be picked up at the veterans’museum in Fullerton on Sundays until June 29 from 2-4 p.m.
