LINCOLN — With temperatures expected to soar over 100 degrees this weekend in many parts of our state, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is reminding residents to take precautions to stay safe during periods of extreme heat.

GENOA — It’s always good to review school policies.The Twin River Board of Education are reviewing 26 school policies after receiving suggested changes from KSB, who serves as the district’s attorney. Some of the revisions come after changes in legislation passed by the legislature.

Veterans hosting coloring contest

The Nance County Veterans Memorial & Military Resource Center is sponsoring a county coloring contest for youth in entering kindergarten through fourth grade.The picture to color may be picked up at the veterans’museum in Fullerton on Sundays until June 29 from 2-4 p.m.

Property valuations continue to rise

FULLERTON — Nance County residents will soon learn just how much their property has increased in valuation.Nance County Assessor Megan Zoucha said that many residents will be receiving a Notice of Valuation Change in their mailbox sometime in June.
