Note from Caroline: Each October many church congregations observe Clergy Appreciation Month. While I would hope pastors are appreciated all year long, October has become a time when that appreciation is especially expressed in various ways.

Field bindweed is one of the most difficult weeds to control in gardens and landscapes. This is the climbing weed with white blooms that grows up and over fences and plants. It is a persistent perennial. No matter how often it is pulled, it keeps returning.

Fullerton FFA hosts Haunted Hayrack Ride

Due to the Halloween season being right around the corner the Fullerton FFA chapter decided to put on a Haunted Hayrack Ride at Broken Arrow Wilderness. The event took place on Saturday, Oct. 15th, for a few hours in the evening.

10 Years Ago October 17, 2012 Kaylee Penne, daughter of Terry and Karen Penne of Belgrade, was crowned Cedar Rapids High homecoming queen following the Cedar Valley football game on September 28. Trey Mogensen, son of Keith and Sandy Mogensen of Cedar Rapids, was crowned king.
