Ten years ago August 7, 2013 The Ober family received the Nebraska Pioneer FarmAward at the Nance County Fair. Twenty years ago August 6, 2003 Work continues on a bridge two miles outside of Fullerton. The bridge over Prairie Creek on Highway 14 is expected to take two months to complete.

A few weeks ago, I received an email from a reader in Texas. The subject line simply said “Lawnmower.” The email contained a photo of a riding lawn mower I owned long ago. I got the rider shortly after I purchased my first house—almost 30 years ago.

Ten years ago July 31, 2013 Macy Shotkoski, 9, of Fullerton and her grandfather, Bill Backes, competed in the Cornhusker State Games. Shotkoski placed 4th in the long jump and won the 1500-meter run. Backes competed in raquet ball and won a gold medal.

Teen Nook opens at Fullerton Library

The Teen Nook is now officially open at the Fullerton Public Library. The library held an open house on Monday to introduce the space to the community. More than 10 teens came out to play games, eat pizza and see what the library has to offer residents their age.
