Ten years ago July 30, 2014Ellie Lesiak, 18, of Fullerton, and her 15-year-old quarterhouse gelding, WR Stylish Dandy Dee, won a purple ribbon and were the reserve champions in the advanced hunter under saddle class at the Fonner Park State 4-H Horse Expo in Grand Island.

Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met June 20, 2024, for the final meeting of the 2022-2024 bienniium, at Miletta Vista Winery near St. Paul, Nebraska. Members were greeted at 11:00 a.m. by member Theda VanHorn and President Lois Wegner.

Beetles bugging us

There are a number of beetles bugging us during summer. Some can be harmful but the majority are not. Currently on the bugging us list, based on inquiries to Nebraska Extension, are Japanese beetles, green June beetles, blister beetles and strawberry root weevils (indoors).
