Red Wagon Parade set for Sept. 6

FULLERTON — The Warriors are ready for Homecoming.The Red Wagon Parade and Pep Rally down Main Street will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6. Fullerton will take on Nebraska Lutheran at 7 p.m. on Friday for the Homecoming Game.The festivities will begin around 3 p.m.

Annual Neighborhood Watch Bar-B-Q held

For the past 16 years Liz Zarek has held her annual Neighborhood Watch Bar-B-Q on the fourth Thursday in August. In 2008 Fullerton’s police department invited members of the community to get to know their neighbors as part of a neighborhood watch initiative.

County OKs 2024-2025 budget

FULLERTON — The weight of what happened in Lincoln will be coming to Nance County.The Nance County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed the 2024-2025 budget on Tuesday. This is the first budget passed since the Legislature voted to pass LB34 last week before ending the special session.

Everyone loves going on a field trip. Members of Fullerton’s sixth grade class had the opportunity to visit the Nebraska State Fair last week in Grand Island.

Two small planes crash in separate northeast Nebraska incidents

NORFOLK — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol remain on scene of two small plane crashes that occurred this morning in northeast Nebraska.The Nebraska State Patrol is the lead investigating agency on the plane crash that occurred in Knox County. The crash was reported at approximately 9:30 a.m.

STILL CRUISIN’

What better way to celebrate the end of summer than cruising down Broadway? Fullerton was the destination to be on Saturday night for the Betterment Committee’s Cruise Night. Between the classic cars, motorcycles and yes, even a riding lawn mower, Cruise Night offered the community a night out. 

Demolition Derby returns Sept. 14

GENOA — Buckle up. The demolition derby is returning to Genoa.The Genoa Fire Department is gearing up for the event on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the old Genoa rodeo grounds. The event is a fundraiser for the department.Check-in is from 1:30-4 p.m. There will be a pit meeting at 4:15 p.m.

Twin River replaces old football helmets

GENOA — The Twin River Board of Education approved a $4,650 purchase for 30 new junior high football helmets.The board learned from Twin River Principal Andy Banahan that the district learned recently that half of their junior high helmets had expired.
