Betterment committee holds Sidewalk Chalk Festival

FULLERTON — The Fullerton Betterment Committee hosted a fun filled chalk art festival on Tuesday, May 14 to celebrate the end of the school year. 69 children participated in the event. Members of the Sheriff’s department accompanied children downtown following school dismissal.

Hastings College honors 138th graduating class

HASTINGS — Hastings College held its 138th Commencement on Saturday, May 18, 2024. During the ceremony, the College awarded degrees to 219 undergraduates and five Master of Arts in Teaching graduates. Graduates represented 19 states and seven countries.

Memorial Day is more than just a day off

Memorial Day weekend is seen by some as the unofficial start of summer.But it is more than just a threeday weekend and an excuse to fire-up the barbecue.Your ability to relax and enjoy your day came at a high cost. Memorial Day was paid for with the blood of your brothers, cousins and neighbors.

REMEMBER THE FALLEN

FULLERTON — As citizens of the United States, we have two holidays a year where we recognize the commitment of members of America’s military services. One is Veterans Day, which recognizes all who have served in the United States Military. The second will be observed next Monday.

Twin River school bond passes by 1 vote margin

GENOA — Fifth time is the charm.Twin River is getting their new building. Voters in the district approved the $39.9 million building project in Tuesday’s primary election. Unofficial tally shows 523 votes in favor, compared to 522 votes against it.

Put Day Camp in Your Summer Plans – June 17-21, 2024

School is out for elementary children for this school year and parents and kids will be making plans for a great summer. The folks at Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp trust that families will keep June 17-21, reserved for Day Camp for their child/children going into K - 6th grade next school year.
