Bloodmobile donors reach goal

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Red Cross Bloodmobile visited Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, May 8. The donation goal was 42 units and dedicated local donors reached that goal. Eight power red donations were given, which count as 15 units, and 27 whole blood units were donated, totaling 42. Two donors were deferred.

Nance County 4-H volunteer receives state-level award

Twenty-two adult volunteers, one 4-H member, and a family of volunteers are being recognized with 2024 Nebraska 4-H Volunteer Awards.Nance County’s Jennifer Wood was one of the recipients.The Johnson and Harbin families from Burt County are receiving the Multi-Generation Family of Volunteers Award.

Loup Power delivers lease payments to area municipalities

COLUMBUS — Loup Power District officials recently delivered lease payments totaling more than $1.6 million to area communities. Each of these communities owns their electric distribution systems. These payments compensate them for the use of those systems for the first quarter of 2024.
