Emergency regulations for Let Them Grow Act approved

LINCOLN — Governor Jim Pillen approved emergency regulations on Sunday submitted by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), relative to the Let Them Grow Act. The emergency regulations are effective immediately. The emergency regulations can be found here.

Flags to fly at half-staff in honor of U.S. Senator Feinstein

LINCOLN — Today, Governor Jim Pillen, in accordance with a request from the White House, announced that all U.S. and Nebraska flags be flown at half-staff to honor U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein of California. The order is effective immediately and is to last until sunset on the day of Sen.

Astronomy talk on eclipses available from Wayne State College

WAYNE — With solar eclipses occurring this fall and next spring, Dr. Todd Young, professor of physics and astronomy and planetarium director at Wayne State College, is offering a talk to educate various groups on the science of solar eclipses.

Ethan Ciancio, Emma Bond voted UNK homecoming royalty

KEARNEY — Ethan Ciancio of Fullerton and Emma Bond of Kearney are the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s homecoming king and queen. They were crowned Thursday evening during a ceremony at the Health and Sports Center on campus. UNK’s homecoming royalty are selected by two rounds of student voting.

Fullerton Quiz Bowl competes at Seward

Fullerton traveled to Seward on Wednesday for the NELAC Literature Quiz Bowl last week. The team Quiz Bowl went 1 and 2 during pool play and eventually lost in the first round of the tournament. The team consists of Paige Horn, Delilah Davis, McKenna Plumbtree, Isabel Norman and Aiden Norman.

Titans prepare for homecoming

GENOA — Twin River Public School would like to announce the Homecoming candidates for 2023. Queen candidates are Libby Held, Taylor Pearson, Chloe Pilakowki, Delaney Reeg and Lydia Ziemba. King candidates are Kadin Buhl, Ashton Cherry, Kirk Hebda, Ryder Kleckner and Mason Rinkol.

Area invited to celebrate Pawnee Nation

The Pawnee Nation will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Pawnee Seed Preservation Society and honoring the Pawnee Scouts of the U.S. Army, company A (1864–1877) at Fort Kearny on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023 from 1-5 p.m.

Speech therapy for a teacher?

My wife Theresa and I moved into Assisted Living in Genoa, Nebraska in May of 2021. We were both 89 years old. I first saw Rhonda Rother as she slowly walked down the hallway to the dining room. She used a self standing cane and held onto the rail.
