FULLERTON — The Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War is halfway through the Last Soldier Project. Beginning in 2003, the project began the process of going around to all 93 Nebraska counties and marking the graves of the last buried Union Civil War veteran in each county.
Jordan Classen and her husband, Travis, branched out from Travis’ family operation in 2016 when they started raising cattle in Fullerton. After getting their feet under them, Jordan began focusing on processing, marketing, and selling their beef. In 2022, she established Classen Land & Cattle, LLC and got to work. She began small but used her talent for marketing and business to create a strategy and development plan. Photo provided

Fullerton library begins new Monday activities

FULLERTON — On Monday, September 11th the Fullerton Public Library kicked off Preschool Storytime. Leta Liesch ran the activity. For a half hour Leta read books, sang songs and did activities with the children. Storytime is every Monday morning from 10:30-11 a.m. throughout the school year.

GENOA — On Friday, Sept. 8, we had our first Little Ones story time of the school year. We started with the letter A! We read Chicka Chicka 123 by Bill Martin Jr., decorated an apple tree with stickers, and used apples as paint stamps! On Friday, Sept. 15, we talked about the letter B.

FULLERTON — Members of the Fullerton board of education approved fundraising plans for three school organization. The student council plans to hold a pie-in-the-face raffle where students can by raffle tickets for a chance to toss a pie at a teacher.

Flower Belles Club met September 15 at the Babb Farm, 3 miles west of Fullerton. Hostess was Joyce Newquist with 8 members present. Guests were Sandy Crouse, Shelly Babb, Clarissa Fuehrer, and Shelly Wiseman. Club members agreed to purchase flower seed packets for a project at the library.
