Cheerleaders are ready for Friday’s Homecoming Game

This year’s cheer squad is ready to support the football team on Friday at the Homecoming Game against Twin River. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Give blood in Cedar Rapids

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will visit Cedar Rapids on Sept. 18 from noon to 6 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Parish Center, 111 N. 6th St. September is National Preparedness month. A strong blood supply is key to preparedness for disasters and medical emergencies.

Boone County Health Center Hires New CEO

ALBION – Boone County Health Center (BCHC) in Albion, NE, announced today that its Board of Directors appointed Caleb Poore as its next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Poore is set to begin his duties in mid-October and will succeed Tanya Sharp, who resigned in April.

State Fair attendance up nearly 30 percent through five days

Great weather and a number of fun attractions helped push the 2023 Nebraska State Fair to a 29.9 percent increase in attendance through the first five days as compared to the same five days in 2022, according to preliminary data released by the Fair Wednesday.

Camp is a place of faith, fun & family

FULLERTON — In May of 1971 a group of Baptist Churches in Nebraska wanted to own and operate their own camp. They purchased several acres of land north east of Fullerton and started Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp. In the beginning it was mostly tent camping.
