The Russell Cup Tournament Champions are Justin Kosmicki and Julie Riewer. First Flight winners for Women’s were Julie Riewer and Theresa Bridger. Second Flight winners were Lisa Matthes and Jolene Robinson.

Genoa library has busy month

GENOA — On Friday, Sept. 8, we had our first Little Ones story time of the school year. We started with the letter A! We read Chicka Chicka 123 by Bill Martin Jr., decorated an apple tree with stickers, and used apples as paint stamps! On Friday, Sept. 15, we talked about the letter B.

FULLERTON — Members of the Fullerton board of education approved fundraising plans for three school organization. The student council plans to hold a pie-in-the-face raffle where students can by raffle tickets for a chance to toss a pie at a teacher.

Flower Belles Club met September 15 at the Babb Farm, 3 miles west of Fullerton. Hostess was Joyce Newquist with 8 members present. Guests were Sandy Crouse, Shelly Babb, Clarissa Fuehrer, and Shelly Wiseman. Club members agreed to purchase flower seed packets for a project at the library.

FULLERTON — In 2019 a group of Fullerton residents got together with the idea to bring a little more unity to the community. The hope was to have an event that would help local business, bring in people from outside of Fullerton and bring the community closer together.

Twin River voters: No new school building

GENOA — The voters have spoken.Twin River will not be getting a new school building, at least not at this time. A special election was held last Tuesday to decide the fate of a $48.5 million bond for a new school building. Preliminary results show measure failed, 659-512.
The Rural Health Education Building is expected to open on the UNK campus in early 2026, giving more students an opportunity to train for health care careers in rural Nebraska.

GENOA — School year programs are officially underway! We had our first Lego Day on Wednesday, September 6th. The challenge given was to make their names using Legos! It was wonderful seeing how creative the kids could be with the Legos! A few of the names are on display at the library.
