GRAND ISLAND — Central Community College has announced the names of full-time students who earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the 2025 fall semester.

NRD accepting tree and shrub orders

The Lower Loup Natural Resources District (LLNRD) is accepting orders for conservation tree and shrub seedlings for planting in spring 2026. The trees are sold to residents of the district who are seeking to implement windbreaks, wildlife habitat, buffer strips, or other conservation practices.

Lippincott files for re-election

CENTRAL CITY — State Senator Loren Lippincott, a conservative Republican representing District 34, has filed the necessary paperwork with the Secretary of State to seek a second term in the Nebraska Legislature.

Posh Pup: Dog services return to Shelby

SHELBY — Amy Renken has been grooming dogs for 15 years. She was at the Fullerton Vet Clinic for a while. Barb Fried taught her some and then she selftaught herself the rest.She took a break from grooming and was a para at Cross County School. Then she decided to come back to grooming.
