Ten years ago June 12, 2013 Members of the Heritage Power Association of Genoa stopped for lunch in Clarks before continuing to Genoa for part of the “Tractor Relay Across Nebraska.” Work was getting ready to begin on construction on Highway 92, east of the 92/30 junction.

Students Donate to Fire Departments

GENOA — The Twin River Student Council hosted the Donkey Ball event on April 27 at Twin River Public School. “We had a great turn out for such a fun event,” Jeanne Czarnick, the Twin River student council adviser, said.

UPDATE: Pool opening delayed longer

FULLERTON — Not so fast. It will be a few more days before you can dive on in. The city of Fullerton announced Wednesday morning that the Fullerton Community Swimming Pool will be closed longer than originally thought.

Fullerton residents took time to remember the fallen on Monday as part of the annual Memorial Day service at the Fullerton Cemetery.

Group Plants Flowers Near Museum

Wylene Novicki and Jan Hellbusch planted flowers last week at the Fullerton Museum. The flowers were donated by the Flower Belles Garden Club. The group maintains the flowers throughout the summer. 

Fullerton Library Report

Summer Reading Programs will be taking place in the library on Tuesdays in June! The Early Literacy (Preschool) program will be in the library from 10-11:30 a.m. every Tuesday morning. The theme for the Elementary Summer Reading Program is “All Together Now.

Genoa Public Library Plans Busy Summer

The library is back in the swing of things with permanent hours and a new director, Kimberly Ellenwood! The hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday. If you are needing books outside of those hours, do not hesitate to call and set up a time!

Nebraska awards 3,753 degrees in May ceremonies

LINCOLN – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred a record 3,753 degrees during commencement exercises May 19 and 20. The 3,669 graduates are from 59 countries; 47 states, the District of Columbia and Guam; and more than 240 Nebraska communities.
